Watermelons imported from China, like apples, can be hazardous. They do use a lot of pesticides on them, admittedly. The chemicals used on these fruits would allow them to grow quicker and keep producing, but that is not always a good thing because these chemicals would cause the fruit to spoil from the inside out. As a basic guideline, only purchase fruits from your neighborhood market.
