Entering The Limelight
Matt Lauer began his career in the television industry right away. In the same year that he dropped out of school, he was hired as a producer at WOWK-TV in Kansas City. While learning the ins and outs of a brand-new industry is never easy, comprehending what it takes to produce a newscast was particularly difficult – and he quickly fell in love with the business. After taking such a big risk by not completing his bachelor’s degree, it appeared as though he had made the right decision in his decision. Lauer had discovered his niche, but he recognized that he couldn’t continue to work behind the camera. This individual was intended for the desk.
Being Seen Nationwide
After one year on the job at WOWK-TV, Lauer was promoted. When he was given the opportunity to work in front of the camera as an on-air reporter, he was determined to demonstrate that he could compete in the big leagues. His dedication and professionalism were on full display, and he was soon on a plane to appear on a slew of news stations across the United States, thanks to his efforts. His exposure to such a large number of people compelled him to improve his craft. And it wasn’t a waste of time because it garnered the attention of one of the most recognizable names in news: NBC (National Broadcasting Company).
